Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Clearly VZW is headed for major changes.

Upper management will be heading for the exits by years end. Many lower level managers will be leaving and it will be a new company within 2 1/2 years. If you think the last couple of years were stressful you have not seen anything yet!

This decision is above the CEO level. Looks like there's more money in winding-down, laying-off and selling-off, than in running a company.

In the next five years (or so) Verizon will "reinvent" there way out of business.

Lowell didnt pick anyone, the board makes decisions. Typical Verizon, not hiring next inline but going left field and hiring those that didnt put in and earn the work

Ericsson's shares, it should be noted, fell over 20% during the six-plus years that Vestberg was CEO.

I have to admit I find the CEO choice to be an odd one.

John will tell you he didn’t want the job. He wants to “spend more time with his family.”

Look for a lot of upper management now to suddenly become doting dads and husbands.

Not that I feel bad financially for John but boy did he get screwed. It is disgusting that Lowell picked a guy with a terrible track record and 1 year in the company. John knows the company inside and out and has vast leadership skills. Good luck John. You deserved the job.
