UX groups will all be rolled under one organization and then headcount reduced with many impacted.

User assistance development is a separate organization, made up of different VPs and a management structure dealing with exempt emps not versed in mondern styles and techniques. They'll go. Only age and racial balance and gender will save some. They're ux-pendable. Info deveoper are not designers, so you're a gonner.

I would say consolidation under the Holy Triumvirate (a deal with JL and HC and the Board) will happen post OOW 2018.

Who is writing this? Everybody knows the main UX leaders in Larrylqnd worked together in corporate or startups before - HC, JL, JU - all know each other and there will be no consolidation or headcount kill. And consolidate under who? TK? This story is months old and put out to keep CL and SM strategy happy and to deal with the fallout from the stupid JA Team Showboat massacre in April 2018. No new RIFs; diversity legislation prevents that, although a lot more showboat crew should be fired. UA devs are already not FTEs but safe. Ignore this VOX of UX Pop scarestory. Its the work of internal types and those already out and safe. Like it will happen before OpenWorld anyway. More BS.

When Engineering drives the product is hard to use, when UX drives implementation won't ever complete. When clueless management drives, all of above plus the product can't compete.

What’s the source of this purported UX consolidation?

UX at Oracle is a joke. They make huge money by making their software difficult to implement.

The UX guy I knew personally at Oracle worked for a sadistic sociopath who had his people sabotage other groups. The UX guy would make up ridiculous requirements for other groups that his manager wanted to attack.

Not a real UX guy, just a thug that talked a lot.

The trouble with UX is that the demands of the back end (engineering) demand that the front end do things that don't make sense. So the UX people are reduced to moving buttons.

If they let UX design the front end first, and then made engineering implement their design, computers (including Oracle) could finally enter the modern age.

UX people are overpaid and largely useless. Just sit around discussing if this button should be in one place or another. Huge waste of money. One UX person could cover large number of applications.

CX pillars also having similar changes across multiple LOBs.

Like everything else at Oracle, it will take a long, long time...... gotta keep those layoffs low under the WARN notice. Probably more layoffs this quarter..... then maybe some more next quarter..... then maybe some consolidation at some point..... on and on and on.

UX teams had layoffs about two months ago. So when is this new consolidation and RIFs expected to happen?

Will this include user assistance development?
