Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Will the intel modem follow the fate of Atom SoC ?

Any news if intel might dump the modem business like it did with Atom SoC ?

If it ain’t the x86 monopoly with no competitors intel has failed miserably.

Now with no process lead and horrible yields on 1274 it is ugly as ugly can get

Can’t wait for ACT2.0

2014-2017 was SO bad re: ATOM. The whole IOT roadmap changed weekly, and finally just went away. Intel doesn't know how to make tinyIA and never will. Same applies to modem. And 10nm. And graphics. And truthfulness.

Intel itself will follow the fate of Atom SoC.

At some point, yes. But Intel might be stubborn enough to never invest enough but just keep waiting on a miracle

Unfortunately the outlook is looking bleak. Going the same way as other industry giants - digital in the computer industry - Nokia in the phone industry. A lot of great people have left , dismayed with our company in the last few years and we have been left with the real underperformers. Ironic really. Best outcome is a split in the business.
