Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Nobody knows nothing.

Nobody knows nothing.

You can guess but you dont know.

You could hit send and get another job but the same as here you could be gone there at anytime you dont know if that boat is any better

You can stay and see what happens mybe get a severance if it happens, mybe not

You can collect unemployment for 6 months if it happens.

You can find another job if your not happy here.

I'm ridding and milking this job for all its worth. My friend from kebler walked away with nearly 30k in severance and a 6 month vacation from unemployment. There are so many jobs out there why worry about something nobody knows the truth on

Yep that's correct. Keebler reps that they kept are also in charge of morning foods division as well. Instead of having 2 reps go into the account they eliminated 1 and that person calls on both. Nabisco will go to a similar structure when DSD is eliminated.

Wrong! Kroger has cycled through many retailers exiting dsd! Warehouse workers are well aware who is going in their warehouse. Yes, confidentiality agreeements prevent people from sharing info, but there are always leaks.

Since intimately this is NOT Mondelez decision, retailers know the direction this is going. Has Dirk told them, no but they have most definitely told Dirk when they will no longer pay for DSD!

Nobody knows an exact timeline except the decision makers, everyone can speculate. After Keebler’s exit the element of surprise isn’t there!

Keebler reps that we’re retained have now been integrated into the Kellogg’s business so these reps have half as many stores but a much larger portfolio, much like we did as reps when Kraft owned us.

That makes sense! Wouldn't surprise me that it plays out that way. All I know is that it's ending soon. Too many red flags! Thanks for sharing!

Q4 is our biggest 1/4 and they wont risk being short handed even more then they are already I don't think that's when it will be announced also there will be to much bad PR to let everyone go right after x-mass

This is what I think announcement Q1 and Q2 roll out and then we are gone at the at the end of Q2

Despite what most people will say there is a high likelihood of retention money and a severance. Also a payout on all unused PTO

The retention and severance what some dont relilize is that it helps them as much as you because it takes away your ability for you to sue them for stuff, talk to the press, they can change your last day of work, and a list of other things you have to agree to to get it. With out it everyone could just leave before they are ready are just show up to work and do nothing

Your Kroger manager has no idea what is happening. Kroger May want control, but there is less than zero chance that anyone in those stores has any clue of what we are going to do next. ZERO

The retail world is changing and you have every right to believe what you want, but know this: no retailer will know before we do.

Its happening at some point and I believe that Kroger person. But my biggest problem with people here are these hit send/dont go down with the titanic people Who think there going to be given 60 days only notice. As someone who has been here 20 years also I believe at the earliest we are 2-6 months away from hearing anything and then after that we will still take another 6-8 months to pull out.

You heard it because it’s true! All those naysayers are in for a huge surprise!! It’s gonna happen, Kroger has been preparing to take back all dsd eventually, but we are next to go!! That will make the end of dsd for Mondelez. Don’t let those that don’t believe you bully you for sharing info, they can believe it or not, up to them! Thank you for sharing!!

And no, I’m not a troll! 20 plus years with nabisco and those of us who have been around see it coming!!

DSD will be ending soon. I don't know a exact date. All I know is what management from chain's and independents have been saying. Dirk will most likely make some kind of announcement in September about DSD. Believe what you want. It's only my opinion but I see the red flags and what store's have been telling me. If I had to put a date on it I would say we're done in early 2019.

We will all be here to the end. Nabisco is not leaving DSD......they may restructure a bit but we will never fully leave. Only Walmart is CAO in our area and no talks of anyone else going that way.

Was digging theroug the HR website and found out that there is already a severance plan program for any fulltime hourly non-union employee whos job might be or become eliminated this was probably set up when they where consolidating the branches

It says anyone with over 5 years gets 2 weeks severance for every 1 year served up to 26 weeks

Under 5 years is up to 5 weeks

It doesn't talk about anything about salaried employees but at most companies this is a standard 1-2 weeks severance for every 1 year served

Excatly! Stay till the end and get what you can from this company! I'm sure incentives will be coming. Make as much as you can. Take the severance and then look. Enjoy life! Life is too short to stress over Nabisco.

We all dont work in a factory there is only 1 sales rep for what every 20-50 miles getting laid off here is not the same as a normal job if we all get laid off what is there 3-5 other people in a in a 50-100 miles looking for the same job

You hit send people act like we all work in the same town and if they layed us off they would be 100s of the same applicants in my area looking at the same time

Hitting send and leaving early makes sence if your in a factory or something with 100s others all looking for work at the same time after a mass layoff at the most what 3-5 in an overlapping area for sales reps mybe 5-10 for merchandisers

Why would I hit send now? And lose out on minimum 6 months of unemployment and a possible severance or retention package?

I think I can collect 60-70% of my normal pay for 26 weeks. I could easily make up the difference doing some side work under the table 1-2 days a week.

If and when they announce something there mostly be a similar retention to stay till the end kebler gave people 5k just to stay to the end and then 1 weeks pay for every year of service. That for me would be another 20 weeks of pay.

I could a minimum get 6 months or up to almost a year. Hitting send now would be like flushing free money down the toilet

So true!

We're all "at will" employees!

Companies can let you go at any time unless you're in a union environment.

More hoops to jump through in union's.

My advice is to ride it out. See what happens. Take the severance. Enjoy the time off. Take the 6 months of unemployment. Job's will be out there for people that want to work. Don't listen to the hit send person or sinking titanic person. Obviously they're still here 😃
