Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

AST team will be scheduled just like selling associates are scheduled.

Availability is input and system generates a schedule based on business needs.

Don’t understand how this is going to work with phone hiring schedules and taleo interview schedules! It may be a slow business day but that doesn’t stop interviews and phone hires scheduled to train. Or cash office.

So this must mean sales managers will now have a hand in hiring functions.

Hahahaha. DMET will edit. Our DMET liaison says NO to everything and everyone. So no one at my store bothers to request anything from her. When ast team is scheduled in msp, we will continue to work schedules based around our responsibilities & store needs, not what the system schedules us.

Most of my schedule is a paper one anyway...I get asked to work all the time but the hours don’t get added in to the computer. Or they want me to stay later than my schedule a lot.

this is just another stupid idea from the company. in ast, which is a HORRIBLE job, is an area flexibility is needed. dmet has the right to say no to an edit also. not all dmet teams are the same and are given strict guidelines on what they can and can not do.

phone hiring s---s. some of the people they hire are horrible and don't last or steal. the holiday meting will be soon and AST will do the on boarding part, but you will see the manager's and ambassador's take a greater role of the 2 day suggested training. the tool kit is on the portal.

wait until the managers schedules go on msp.

um, hundreds? no. DMET would not approve that. you don't get to rewrite the whole schedule.

Why do you think they are drinking kook aid? Don’t your sales managers submit hundreds of edits every month to change their schedules to what they need? Same thing here.

It’s a pilot. And even if it gets rolled out nationwide, all you do is submit edits to fix what you need fixed, just like everyone else already does.. we will keep working what we need to work to take care of our store the way we always have.

This Friday is the first schedule release for those in the pilot. Can't wait to see what MSP comes up with.

Are they hiring people for the holidays? I just assumed they would go with the skeletal crew they have now.

It’s just a pilot in 5 locations for now.

So far this is a pilot. My guess is they wil try to implement this during the worst possible time like they always do! Right at the peak of holiday hiring. (Eyeroll)

I thought this was a pilot program from a memo dated 6/18, The piloting districts are below.

I think this is a bad idea.

This spring there was a change for colleagues and stores to help with planning ahead – Availability and Two Weeks of Schedule Release. Through Availability, colleagues are better able to balance work and personal commitments, store workload will be reduced, and have the maximum amount of time to fill open shifts. In order to provide this incredible opportunity, the schedule release was modified to be two weeks at a time.

This shorter schedule release window ensures more flexibility for colleagues to plan ahead while balancing to schedule coverage. All in all this is a better solution for our customers, colleagues and stores!

Long Island, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Sacramento/North Bay and Northwest Florida.

Is this just the pilot, or has it been extended to all districts?
