Does anybody know if we will be opening on Christmas Day in the NE area? Also, are all the managers working again on Thanksgiving day? ... Just a thought :-(

More crap rumors. No we won’t be open Christmas Day. And yes all the managers work a full or partial shift on thanksgiving.

Christmas is a National Holiday. It is up to an individual how you observe it. However, it should be respected by employers as such. Other faiths have their holidays that are sacred and respected. They may not be National Holidays in America, but respected all the same. If Macy's opens , it will be up to each individual to chose whether you work or celebrate the birth of Christ with your loved ones.

It will be open Christmas Day for non catholic shoppers... Indian, Muslim, Jewish, and other religions do not observe the holiday and would like to shop. Not sure why my post was taken down. Amazon can take orders on Xmas and we need to compete. Not sure if you looked at Macys.com but there are models with head pieces (Muslim head pieces) and you can see we are starting to target a different customer.
Generally, if the decision is made to open Christmas Day, it will include all stores. The exception will be union stores that have an agreement not to. Time will tell. There was a post here a day ago that stated we were going to open, someone deleted the post.
