How many SSS are told to pass the teams on wednesdays? This way the STL dont have to answer to their EC.

Teams still don’t do tags so it’s just a typical day. The only difference now is regional is looking over what the audit codes the sss put it now. Now they can see how bad the teams really do.

Customer: Do you have this chip in stock? I can’t find it.

Whole body team member: I don’t work in that department. Let me page a team member.

customer leaves out of frustration after waiting for 10 minutes

Typical day at Whole Foods ^^^

In most conventional grocery stores, there are no “teams”. The entire store is a team. There may be some people that work only in service departments such as bakery and deli, but other than that, most everyone knows how to do a little bit of everything.

Why do WF workers think WF will continue to have teams? Eventually WF will operate just like every other market... that is IF they even have live workers.

Yup - our GA was required to teach a front end supervisor his job about 6 months before the layoff was announced. SSI has an assistant that is a part time cashier and the store support team hangs grocery tags. Now, SSI is supposed to take over GA duties but I'm pretty sure they'll figure out a way to get store support to do that job, too.

Its a smart move on the company side. They got the SSS/SSI out of whatever backup positions we held, either cashup or receiving or whatever, and are somewhat mandating that we don't have a set backup for our new duties. instead, they are encouraging us to teach a few supervisors, a few cashiers, our point ATL, and the TL how to run our day to day stuff, all in the name of "having support when we aren't in store". Once we have our trained "backups" in place, they can cut us loose without really losing a step.

Of course, foresight like this has never been displayed by WFM before, i doubt they are that many steps ahead.

Typical WF BS keep it nice and vague about who does what so they can dump more work on the SSS later on.
