Go to Nvidia, bro. You'll get a much better work env, cutting edge products vs. Intel dinosaur tech, career options, and a rock-star CEO.

Validation is the lowest in the totem pole of engineering jobs at Intel. Whike, it takes the same knowledge and expertise to validate a product, as it would take to design a product, validation guys are not afforded the opportunity to switch roles. Engineering jobs at Intel are in general in a continual depreciating run. The trend in the company is to move everything to India and China. Validation at Intel is tar baby. Once in validation, only other validation teams at Intel will ever hire you. Saying this from experience. Given Intel's general direction the deplete it's engineer ranks through meager rises and promotions and zero staff augmentation in North America, people with choice should first consider other options.

In my opinion intel is a great place to work. You get to work with incredibly smart and creative people who also have strong work ethic. It can be competitive at the time of focals ( annual review) but people in general are collaborative and respectful. How much work life balance you get will depend on the manager , some of which are quite good and some horrible ! Once here remember to keep polishing your skills. You can’t expect to given good reviews if your contributions are at the same level as pervious years. Join with an attitude of going above and beyond the call of duty. Work hard and be a good collaborator ! You will enjoy it here

If you join validation, most likely yo will replace someone who doesn't work 80 hours per week any longer. In couple years you will realize that it is a dead end job and will be replaced by another RCG for the same reason.

Join intel validation only if you don't have other options and only to move within intel later. During 2014-16 lay offs validation in our org was cut first and much higher then average. Validation is moving to low cost geo. Toxic enviroment. 10-20% attrition every year.

Short term Intel good place to be a contractor, decent pay for mundane work.

Longer term, hard to build career unless you have connections at Director/VP level.

no. have you not read this board? or the press - age discrimination, CEO craziness, large workforce reductions, churn and burn, low morale, poor corporate values, poor leadership, treat people badly, promote bad managers

Which site? If you are in Santa Clara, try to get hired at NVIDIA instead...

Validation Engineers are treated like herds of cows, like most larger employee groups...

You will join a vast army of RCG with lining up for the 1 in 25 promotion spots per year.

Go elsewhere.

No. Entry level stuff. You'll be forgotten in s few years. You'll need to create a lot of stories for your Focal, but even if you manage to walk on water, your GL will probably only rate you successful with a stock level, SL3. Gives them much latitude to go with SL4 the year they want to get rid of you.
