I got paid the full Severance, and I didn't stay to the end; also I was working at a new job during and after store closing. It's mainly up to the store manager if he likes you or not. I got my paperwork signed off on two weeks before my store closed and got paid for my vacation for the last two weeks (never to return). After being a loyal worker for 25 years, this was the least my manager could do for me. He understood I had a family and couldn't pass up a good paying job opportunity just so I could work for two more weeks for Kmart. My manger also lost his job, and my DM retired. Since leaving Kmart I now make 4X the pay and am an independent contractor. Kmart corporation screwed me over several times in the 25 years, but I always kept my mouth shut. The smart people I worked with and friends I made, is why I stayed so long. It has been a few years now, and my old store is still vacant, and it's one of the newer Kmart leased buildings. I bet Kmart doesn't know c-ap about your other employment, they are just trying to find a reason to no pay your severance; don't be bullied, make them pay, they owe you every dime! I don't know how you did it but I got a call this morning from someone at Sear Holdings telling me I was reported in receiving income from another job. I told them I was not working but I don't think they believed me, Do not post anything on here if they found who I was they can find out who you are.

@ypi- No need to worry. the outsourced all their goon squads to the delivery guys so your visit will be postponed at least 4 times and then they will cancel your visit.
The Sears Blue Crew goon squad will be arriving with their Transformation Batons and EBITDA Clubs and will really be giving us a work over for that one!

You cannot work another job and continue your TPP. That is in the agreement you sign for your TPP. Don't like those terms? Don't sign it and go without the TPP entirely.

Transition pay is your severance. You will be considered "on leave" for the duration of your severance and will continue getting paid on the same pay schedule as before (Bi Weekly for hourly and 1st and 15th for salaried) until your severance runs out. 1 week of severance for each week with the company but hourly and salaried have different caps for the number of weeks that you get.
SHC laid me off 3 months ago and my last paycheck I'll receive from them will be at the end of the month. The good thing is that I found a job as soon as I wsd laid off so I've been getting double paychecks for 3 months. Glad I got out before it all shut down! There won't be any severance for those that go down with the ship.
TPP is when the pay you your pay for 1 week for every year you worked up to 8 weeks if you are full time. Salary gets up to 20 weeks unless they changed it to 16 weeks and part timers don’t get anything, but your final pay. In California you can also collect unemployment while you are collecting your TPP. I hope this helped tou
