Is anybody else shocked that there have been no store closing for at least several months now?
Unless I missed something, that is.
The way we are going, I was convinced we'd be learning about new closure weekly, if not daily.
I guess we are doing better than I thought.
Closures aren’t contingent on leases. Store in our district closed and they still had a lease through 2028
Store closures are usually announced at the beginning of the year. Never on a monthly basis. In August of 2016 it was announced that we would close 100 under performing stores. 68 of those stores were closed in 2017. I believe we closed 11 this year, we have a few more to go. Closures are announced when the year the lease is up.
