Auto is down to something like 350. Connected or separate I don't know. But it's near half of 10 years ago. How many of those are seritage owned waiting for a prospective sale is another question.
Count of full line stores shows true impact of what has happened. And no one is saying how many of those are left.
The rest are rented store fronts, that could be gone like a fart in a windstorm , and no one would notice.
Sears said it had 894 full-line and specialty retail stores in the U.S. as of May 5, 2018. That was after it had closed 108 stores—41 Sears and 67 Kmart stores—in the 13 weeks ended May 5.
Wow. Wasn't there around 3500 stores back in 2010?
At this rate the store count will be less than 500 this time next year IF SHC doesn't go bankrupt.
