Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

AIG is too volatile

I got flushed from AIG after over 11 yrs of service w/o warning although I had a gut hunch something was in the works. Some dept's had cuts, others no cuts. I heard my area came down to politics and if you were liked, you got to stay, if the mgr didnt like you, you got the AX. Beyond that many others were cut however. THIS is my 2nd time cut from AIG and I will never return there again. I'll drive a truck or dig a ditch before returning there. Never again. AIG is too volatile and has no loyalty to employees that have worked their butts off for them, when they want you gone, you're gone and no sympathy or a second thought given to it.

Still no details about layoffs on 08/16? Any counts or locations? There was nothing to report from TX. I am inclined to believe one of the statements that there are no large or mass actions happenings. Enjoy the weekend until NExT Thursday !

Sorry. It’s always difficult to deal with layoff. 11 yrs is a great achievement. I’m 6 yrs in and don’t think I’ll be here much longer either. I hope you find something soon. God speed.

Layoffs 8/16? I didn't hear about any either but you say there 'definitely were'. Can you add any details?

Checked in on multiple site and areas of business. Again, it is just another Thursday. No mass action in progress and no creditible source indicate any large action soon. This is mostly left over anxiety from July RIFs.

So only executives upper echelons are being targeted interesting it was said on this same site that layoffs would be far reaching wide and deep across all departments now this may not be the case so much for solid inside sources right ... does anyone have a clue what’s happening is it all based on opinions here or is there information supporting layoffs across all departments in especially non profit centers as someone posted earlier thanks 🙏

Bain Consulting s in charge of the layoffs. This is all being done at a very high-level. They were chosen because they will be impartial. Very little politics involved, if any at all.
