Severance disparities

So those of us at the claim specialist/team manager level must not be part of the club. No “voluntary” severance, only involuntary. Then we sign the releases and agreements and wait and wait. Section managers and up are paid promptly after their seven day revocation is up. Not so much for the rabble as we wait and wait with no contact information or explanation as to why they are dragging their feet on paying per the agreement and release. So typical.

Some states have laws requiring laid off works to be paid promptly. Like same day as layoff. Look into whether your state has employee protections like that.

There is a special place in hell for how this whole severance thing was handled. The directors who caused this mess in the first place got $100k on top of their severance and were shown the door. Others at the very top who have failed at everything they have done were promoted. At some point there will be justice meted out fir the lives ruined. We may not see it but right now i hope each trip the armed guards make with them is a reminder of the anxiety they have caused. Dont tell us you care about anyone but yourselves because you do not. If you cant sleep at night look in the mirror.

I researched this and found that this is a common practice wherein upper mngt levels are extended voluntary severance but non-mngt or low-mngt are given involuntary severance. Both stings and stinks. I was only given involuntary sev too.

I got an email about a month before my severance that detailed how and when I would be paid. I had to sign a document within a day or two and they processed my severance within 10 business days.
