Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Weights and Measures

Whole Foods still knowingly ripping off customers? My regional leadership knew all about it but didn’t care until it hit the fan.

You have a similar situation? Call your local weights and measures bureau and let them investigate. Stop allowing wfm to rip people off!

Regional leadership always said to just ‘pay the fines’ and had no regard for the customers or how it looked to the public. Sure, base tms will mess up but the fact it was known, and allowed, by the higher ups is a disgrace. THAT is something that should be investigated.

@1fct- you are right. I was told by W&M that they hit us harder because of they. The competition has very few different containers so they dont make the mistakes we do.

It doesn't help that there are 50 different containers used in a store. Why does WFM never learn that their uniqueness is what kills them every time. All stores should be making the same stuff in the same containers at the same tare.

I think the offending departments should be shut down for a week and pay docked. Maybe then TMs would pay attention and give a damn. Nothing ever really changes at WFM. Haven’t been there in over a year, but the same problems still exist.

Being an sss is great I love arguing with department leadership about the proper procedure for finding out a tare.

If weights and measures is still an issue in your store, then your leadership has either A.) Just started and is still trying to figure whom to contact to fix it, B.) Been on a mental vacation for the past 13 months or C.) Is about to "resign" and is therefore busy updating his/her LinkedIn profile. In our store, team members practically tie our SSI to the scale until either it's fixed or serviced. Yes, poor training in stores is causing tare issues not a Sith Lord plan to stick it to customers. For perspective, search "Amazon Stock after purchase of Whole Foods Market". TLDR: The approx. $13B spent on the acquisition was recovered within a weeks. WFM is simply an addition to their portfolio that really shouldn't surprise anyone.

I left whole foods so I cant lose my job over this:

I once was applying an ATL position the flagship store in Oakland CA and during my due diligence I noticed their scales we're positive even without product on them. All three scales. I told the team leader and asked her if she wanted me to fix it she said no she'll take care of it. I dame back for my 2nd due diligence and noticed the issue was still there but now there was a admin lock out wall so I couldn't zero out the scale. I told the team leader about the issue again and she said "Yes, i'm aware. Thank you". I talked to the cheese buyer about this and he said that's just how things are done here. I retracted my application the very next day.

When specialty was added on to the grocery dept, all the sudden I was expected to cover the cheese counter AND work the grocery truck halfway across the store. I respectfully asked to be trained but my TL did nothing. I just had to figure it out on my own and definitely made some mistakes regarding tares.

Nice job explaining how they are ripping people off. What is being done and what region is this taking place? Poor training in stores is what causes taring issues and the general laziness of the TM. This is coming from an SSS I see the issues that go on weekly.
