Sales reps are abandoning their jobs and quiting at a rapid pace now. Just today 3 people have put in notices at my store alone. I have also heard that a GM quit at a another store in the district. Stores are barely able to operate with the ultra low headcount, something has to give soon.

The future of retail is non commissioned reps and a lot of stores being closed.
It is the plan. Most buy online now. There is little to gain having commission sales people, benefits etc. The Internet will do 90% of the work for little cost relative to store overhead. If they slowly drive away reps it suits the corporate mission just fine. There will assuredly be stores in the future but not anywhere the same number as now. Pay will come in line with the value added which is not much anymore.
Just gave my two week notice the other day. The new comp plan is garbage they are trying to pay us as little as possible. This job just isn’t what it used to be not worth my time or efforts anymore. Everyone in my store is miserable and trying to leave including management. Such a hostile work environment. It’s time to get out if you haven’t already.
I'm also SEM management is all micromanaging hum slammers or "f--- your way to the top" types. My store has like 2-3 reps killing it because they're doing shady sh-- that my gm turns a blind eye to because they're cool outside the store. But if I even sneeze the wrong way around a customer I get a coaching. Also the sm's constantly hand off all their sales leads to this same small group. I hope my store closes just out of spite now. Pay is sh--. Quota is sh--. And management couldn't be more incompetent.
SEM my last day is at the end of the month. Left for numerous reasons mainly hostile work environment and the pay isn't good enough to keep me there anymore
