Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

PM and SMs

What exactly do Project Managers and Scrum Masters do anyway ? What do they contribute to the company bottom line ? Looks like these employees warm up their seats all day by sitting on it all day without doing doing anything of value

You’ll gain insight from a PM? More like fluff and what they “hope” to do when in fact it’s very much unrealistic or it will be two years down the line

Set up an informational interview with a PM and find out what they do. You will gain insight and appreciation.

I knew several of PMs, can see them 1-3 times a year in office. no one knows what they are doing.

Any ideas about layoffs coming to Hoboken?

Should we expect them around the earnings reports?

The company is full of project and programme managers - many who will struggle outside of TR, with their over inflated titles (and salaries). Most are no more than project co-ordinators.

Well, they’re seen as adding value as PMs and SMs have left TR for other orgs.
