Intel India trains 99,000 people in AI

US chipmaker Intel has trained as many as 99,000 developers, students and professors in artificial intelligence (AI) in India since April 2017, against a target of 15,000 for the first year of its programme, according to the tech major.

It has also tied up with premier educational institutes like the IITs in Delhi, Mumbai, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Chennai, and IIITs in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, BITS Pilani, ISI Kolkata, IISc Bangalore, CDAC and companies like Shell and TCS among others for training under its AI developer education.

Many American companies have larger head count in India vs USA like IBM.....Shell basicly has tiny R&D in Houston vs Banglore. More Chai served at intel vs coffee

Company's publicity machine in overdrive as usual.

Intel’s claims of having trained people outside the company should be taken with a big grain of salt. If you show up at a session you are counted as having been trained. Ask them to define “trained.” Is there a test participants take to show their knowledge? Of course not. This has been going on for many years. “Trained” is never qualified.

What did it cost Intel & what is the ROI ?

I'll be worried when I see the existing Intel employees there do something wonderful. So far, not even close ... go jump in a lake or run aimlessly across a field OP.

Hazardous materials clean-up of the DM2 (old Fab at SC) is cost prohibitive. The left toxic left overs from the old Mountain View Site on Middlefield Road that ended up in the ground water nearby . As well as a nearby pear orchard.

They already have a new building in Bangalore.. Pictures of the building were in circuit last year.

This is zero results so far.
