What is everyone's thoughts on the new responsibilities of teamleads? Heard that they will be responsible for hiring, firing and coaching. If team leads are doing all of these things what is are managers paid for? Team leads get way more responsibility with no pay increase.

And please stop with the koolaid reference. It was old about 20 posts ago.

We are all aware what Wes re to the company. Most of us don’t have the luxury of walking away from a decent paying job. This is retail. If you are making $15 and above you aren’t going to start at that at another retail job. Give us a break. We aren’t happy or we wouldn’t be on here but don’t talk to us like we are all a bunch of mo--ns.

Please stop with the “team’” language.

You are not on a team.

Teams support each other to win a common goal from the top down.

Stop drinking the kook aid and start thinking for you and your families best interest.

They’re counting on you to digest this team concept garbage, as they continue to ready the Vaseline!

Wake up and do what’s in YOUR best interest! I don’t recall team spirit with the last round of club closings. And neither will we see the “team’ looking out for us on the next round.

Team leads are just audit team with worse hours and less help to do large audits. Not to mention you don’t have any help under you outside of a couple closers who aren’t going to have time to do any merchandising projects or they get in trouble for not having zoning done at close between running at registers.

Favoritism and retaliation is at an all time hide. If you don't kiss A%% you don't get any where. Team leads and MSS do coachings and management takes credit for it half the time. MSS that drives numbers because not a favorite and gets passed over for Team Lead.

I honestly believe there is more restructure coming. Maybe a "support manager" system as Walmart does. The materials keep referring to leads as hourly manager's. Who the hell knows?

Team lead has exact same authority. Can initiate a written on direct reports but needs a manager present, termination by a manager only. Same rules apply for managers and there cm's. All done through workplace app. Hiring done through app now also firing through app, not gain system.

I'm sure people still want to move up I understand the company is shady in some markets. But if someone wants to move up, better themselves and make more money shouldn't hate on it.

Who would want to be a manager in this environment? Plus this company loves promoting worthless team leads to become even more worthless managers.. then they wonder why they get laid off.. long term team leads are way under paid for what they do... not everyone is management material or want s to move up. Yes base pay bumped up $2 to $15 for NEW TLs but those that have put years in saw ZERO pay increase at the same time. Very Shady

If you are a teamlead, you should be doing all those things all ready. A team lead should be a person ready to go into management. You should be wanting to do as much as possible. When I was a teamlead, I tried to do as much as possible so I was ready to be a manager. I know one thing I didnt do, post on a website complaining about getting more responsibilities.
