With the recent change to the severance policy, is anyone attempting to negotiate more favorable severance terms? Have there been instances of successful results?

I think the irif materials provided at exit include the breakdowns by age. It was included in the prior VRIF last time around in the US. Someone should post it somewhere.

We are an old company, at least in engineering! The bulk of the employees in my org are over 40 years old.
I would just love to know how many people over 40 years old were let go. If a disproportionate number are above that - then it it a whole "protected-class" that was laid off.
Of course it is going to be tough to get this kind of data.
When I read this post I laughed out loud, not because people don’t deserve the sev, but because Xerox is putting the financial squeeze on everyone. They aren’t volunteering anything.
I realize that everyone’s circumstances may be different, but in the US if you are nonunion, you will get nowhere without a lawyer and without a claim. For at will employees, non contract, A claim would need to consist of a protected class or illegal activity. The claim would either go to court or be settled over many months or even years. If you feel you have been wronged, consult an attorney licensed in your state. They should provide a free consultation to review the merits of a case. If no merit, they will tell you. If merit, they will explain fee structure.
Their is a union guy in Webster who will fight . He has beat the company before

I can't imagine anybody being successful. The employee has no leverage, unless they want to keep you around to finish a project or transfer knowledge.
