Wonder which id--t thought this was going to simplify receiving. All this did was make receiving more unorganized than it was. We never use to unload trucks during the day but thats all we do now. Nights cant even finish the DC Trailers

I think the MABD dates are a big issue too. Especially when they are giving 7 or 8 different companies ( many of the same type of merchandise i.e. water, soda, paper) the same MABD, which is the day they choose to schedule for...
You can really work the schedule to make things run more smoothly but of course the instructions did not explain half of what they should have. Putting in your local vendors with reaccurring appointments (beer, wine, soda) helps keep your schedule the way you need it
My biggest complaint with the new system is that the freight lines have no idea how much dock space we have available. We may have 100 pallets on the schedule but only have room on the dock for 50. At least when the clerk did the scheduling, this was taken into account.
I have 7 water trucks scheduled between 9 pm tonight and 9 pm tomorrow night. That along with all the D.C.'s, fresh trucks, Mclane, Serta, Coke, etc. I went in and moved several to Thursday since we didnt have anything scheduled but of course they didn't show. Tomorrow is going to be a s...show trying to figure out where were going to put 150 pallets. I can't believe the stupidity of this company. It's almost funny.
If your club is a daytime Recieving..... open from 5am to 1:3p or if your club a night Recieving open from 10p to 6am...but after that time close Recieving.....If you have truckload or recurring appt set them on the schedule .....you can modify the schedule put a note explaining why your changing it do to Recieving hours....
How do ya know when to "close" receiving? Since no real instruction was given, I simply closed from 1pm till 9 pm when no one was there. Well it didnt take long to see 5 water trucks in one night!! Wondering what anyone else might be doing out there...i closed rec. 12-1, 2-3, and 4-5. Dont know how any of this is gonna help when home office thinks an 11 day supply of poland spring warrants two trucks per night (80+ pallets of 16.9 poland spring on dock every day. How is the pack up old cargo pillows in dc trucks foldem and put back on dc trucks program going?? Lol peace!
The clerk or lead needs to go in and edit when receiving is closed .. it limits the times over night trucks come to you. I had to call the suppliers and instruct them water and paper trucks come on the overnight. You can go in and modify there times.. just have to add notes.
I am personally glad we are unloading trucks during the day. It is job security for day receiving. Don't always be negative try to look at a good side.
