Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Why So Many , are So Unhappy??

I do not work for the Company , but I would like to know why so very many people are so seriously unhappy or hate the Company? This is not a position so please understand , I mean no disrespect . I really would like to seriously understand why Supervision , Company Leadership is despised by Managers that’s very real going from posts here, to the hourly Associates. Why not just leave if you all are so miserable. Life really is too short! Why let a Company or its Agents treat you like dirt. Just leave! I honestly do not understand the source . Please share what you feel that is...

They are always understaffed due to not filling the openings that are available or due to wanting to keep wages low and do not have a full crew. Yes the job gets done but there is alot put on associates and are unable to assist members with a pleasant response because everyone is so strong out anything that pulls associates away from there many tasks puts even more pressure on the employees. There is not relaxed feeling at work.

I'm stuck. I have a bachelors, so education isn't the problem. My age is. I'm 65. No one wants to hire someone my age.

Hope this answers post.

It’s not hard to see that they despise long term employees. The company encourages turnover to keep wages low. Try to imagine if you are hired today and work for 25 years you won’t even be making 18.00 an hour by the year 2043. They no longer want to attract loyalty. They are attracting part time workers who don’t rely on the job as income. At least not long term. No insurance less PTO and the list goes on. High turnover comes at a cost too. They are making poor decisions at the top only looking at the short term benefits. Trying to build an online business when it’s too late, they already lost that game.

Just imagine running a company without someone looking over your every move, these ridiculous conferences daily. Let’s get all the managers on conference calls to take away from member service, just so they can tell you how to wipe your a--!!!!!

At one time many years ago was a very cultural strong company to work for. The management staff could make decisions based upon their knowledge. These days they can’t make a move with out permission. This is what they paid talent to do is to be able to think and do without fear. We now have yes and no managers who won’t speak up.

Sad part is you will not be able to support a family with 2% raises across the board.

Over 30 years thought I would probably retire with the company, like so many others where would I go making the money I make here. My thought process is not wait it out and get a severance. It’s absolutely true they have taken so many benefits away it’s not even funny, you keep thinking ok what will they take next. Honestly if I had to start over I would end up making only half what I make now. Before any one starts the name blaming yes I take full responsibility for not getting additional degrees to move on, but who would have thought the company would be going so far down the wrong path.

I will address the poster , I’m not a Troll . Just trying to understand the frustration and high degree of apparent organizational

Unhappiness . I do not know anything about the Company not what I have read here. Just trying to understand it from people who live it everyday. I stated on my post I did not work for the Company and have no opinion or view of what that is like. I appreciate any honest sincere feedback to clarify.

Thank You

Some have put alot of time into this company and are close to retirement age. This company is becoming harder to work for each week. They take away our benefits, insurance s---s. Like every other business they do not care about their employees. You must be a troll any body that knows anything about Walmart knows what employees put up with

I can speak for myself only. I don’t leave because I have a lot of years with this company and that’s what they are hoping for. They will eventually eliminate my position so I’m stuck waiting it out to get my severance. If I leave too soon I will leave thousands and thousands of dollars on the plate. I could leave now but why not wait a few more months to get my payout. The company is doing everything they can to get the long term associates to quit so they don’t have to pay. It’s a horrible position to be in but some of us are stuck for that reason.
