Whoever wrote the previous post about Consumer Lending must have had some advance knowledge. All the conversations were had yesterday. Some people are bitter. But most people are confused for two reasons. 1) The return to work locations were the biggest thing questioned. Teams were told that the whole exercise was done for "collaboration" and "co-location". Then each person affected was given their return to work address. A team of 10 people who all originally reported to one site were scattered throughout the area, mostly put into Home Loans Sales offices or Financial Centers that had office space on another floor. None of the team of 10 were in the same location! 2) When management was asked what the acceptable number of VPN hours will be, there was no consistent answer. A few people were told 72 hours per month, a few people were told 0 hours per month, several people were told "case-by-case" with permission. Another great example of flawless execution (not!).

That's how they got me and my team. Sent back to sites for face to face collaboration but none of us work with a day's drive of each other. We all now drive in to sit alone and do the same work we did on mywork. It is being done to get people to quit without severance but they will never admit it. Mywork was supposed to save money and save the environment. So now I guess the bank feels it is ok to kill the earth and spend extra money as long as they get enough people to quit.

The mystery is why anyone who works here believes ANYTHING senior management says!! More than half of GT&O is offshore, but US employees were forced back into the office to "collaborate" - so they all sit around on the phone with their offshore team members. We really are as stupid and desperate as management thinks we are!!
