Hearing that the CBO's for wireless are looking at another RIF come November. Anyone else heard anything? They keep restructuring our department. Also heard another re-org coming for operations.

Been with VZW for 15 plus years. And got the call that my job will be eliminated with only a handful of kept. I’ve seen so many good people walked out that put in a lot of years and we’re great employees...walked out like they were nothing to the Company. It has gone downhill for years but tell me it’s the best thing that happened to them. We are just numbers here, it doesn’t matter how hard you work or have worked for them.

North Central Market CBOs are being eliminated effective Q1/Q2 2019. The positions are being relocated to Carry, NC or Dallas, TX with a new title.

Relocation is being offered to those who move with the company. Not 100% sure if employees have to reapply/interview for their current positions again. Severance is being offered to those who part with the company.

Net Ops employee here. As far as the field goes, I can not see how they can do that. We already have had many cut backs in our dept. Lost some good techs, our territory square miles (the driving) expended greatly, are doing too much administrative work to even get out in the field thanks to Site Tracker/Sales Force and layoffs of administrative staff that used to take care of PO's and Accounts Payable for us. We are now doing the work of the old Systems Performance Dept. Interference Hunting and antenna noise problems constantly dog us. And we are always trying to figure out what the Construction Project managers, RF Engineering, Construction Engineering, are trying to tell us what they are building. They have too many data bases and do not seem to share information, and makes the field techs hunt all over for needed information. And the night work is an issue too. When techs need to be out working during the overnight, (to minimize customer impact) they want them to be available for conference calls the next morning. And then there is zero overtime. They want time management. But you get in hot water if your 40 is in before 5pm Friday. You notice they don't talk work-life balance anymore? To be fair, they have taken some things off of our plates. Site maint visits now only yearly (used to be quarterly), Inventory scanning cut back. But those were just token gestures compared to what they added and are about to be adding on with Dark Fiber and 5G and who knows what else is up their sleeve. I still argue though that it is a good job. It's just hard to keep managing new (it seems like weekly) expectations.
