@gug

Well, you’re half right so far, they announced an eisp yesterday for mostly inside people and this is September. I hope you’re also right about them offering another in October to the outside craft.

Rumors? Always rumors on this board and the company frequently offers EISP to employees. Wireline is not worried as they are getting paid to leave; will be leaving with a 401K, pension and an EISP. Wireless on the other hand should be concerned.

No wireless employee should let an EISP in the wireline side worry them.

Sorry to sound ignorant here, but what is EISP?

Does that something to do with severance packages?

Exactly, not all departments offer. But not a rumor, many departments have more associates than needed = surplus. All titles in surplus will receive the offer.

I just talked to my 3rd level yesterday and asked if there were any EISP offers in the works. He said no, there won’t be any, at least for my department. I’m a switching equipment tech (SET).

Not a rumor. Some depts offering in September and some in October. The company would be crazy NOT to put one out there. The need to reduce headcount is strong. They are counting on these reductions.

I heard the cleaning crew repeating the same rumor so it must be true.

Heard that's why they wanted to extend the contract. So they could immediately offer an EISP. Since that's going to help reach the $10B target. Uh huh.

The only thing that I’ve heard is from our third level. She said that the higher ups are having meetings to discuss an eisp and that it was closed door type meetings, so she didn’t know anything other than that. It was her opinion that if they offered one, it would be for the clerks inside, and not any of the outside crafts, but you never know...that was just her opinion.
