Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Hey guys! I'm looking for advice. I have a new team lead that started on around July 6th. Ever since he's started, he's been pointing out even the smallest of faults about my work. For example, simply forgetting to swipe complete on FST when done cutting that item. Or even forgetting to put a divide on the meat table for when I open up packs of meat to cut. He's now starting to fabricate things about me. He runs to managers and tells them that he's told me to do a task, that's never been communicated. People that know me know that when asked, I will complete the task given. I'm an absolute machine when it comes to work. I'm super reliable and one of the best workers in that building. He harasses me and belittles me every chance he gets. It's almost an every week thing and he literally runs to management to fabricate things about me.

What are my options? Harassment, Belittlement, fabrication, delegitimizing, undermining all are being done towards me.

It s---s, because I know that ethics will just open up a case and have a sit down with the team lead doing the harassing. Then it'll be a slap on the wrist. This company is a joke when it comes to that type of case, or any case for that matter. I don't really have an option of defense.

Going through the same sh--. Work your a-- off and instead of you lead or manager supporting you one or the other is picking. I have turned the manager in. Weekly im being followed the watch being looked at asking if im on break their body language s---s! Being told im breaking polices lol i know policies and how to look them up ask for proof and of course none exist. The Gm dont care so my next step will also be getting ahold of ethics

Other meat cutters in my department miss FST and they don't even get the same treatment! It's always me. So it's clear that it's a targeting act because I had joked around with him. He won't even come to me about an issue. He runs straight to management and acts like he's not harassing me. He tells me all the time when he's near me that a "storm is coming my way." How do I deal with that?!

I missed the part where during the first week of working together, he had told everyone in the meat room that we all can have fun and joke around with him. SO.....before he came in, we had a tight knit group and we still do. Everyone gets along with each other. BUT, during that week he said he had seen a UFO. Then began to show us a picture of the so called UFO. I laughed and said: JOKINGLY that he was a nutcase. He laughed it off and I thought it was fine and dandy. Ever since that day, he's had it out for me. No other reason. All the managers love my work ethic and I've never been coached. I do what i'm told and people can rely on me. He's out to get me and I don't enjoy the harassment. PLEASE READ THIS.

Was he hired off the strreet? 18 yrs old? The younger they are I call them supiourvisers!! Just young and only worried about "how they look too management" wrong yes ....I have worked with this company long enough to know follow the chain of command go to your fresh manager then club Manger then market manager then ethics. Document every conversation..keep your phone on you and record everything. Always have a witness on your behalf just like management does. But on your leads behalf if you are not completing FST then you aren't doing your job. It's a small task why aren't you doing what you ate told? You can be wrote up for insubordination. This is company wide in fresh you should know that. Maybe your supervisor is really looking out for u and your taking it the wrong way...just saying

I have seen this behavior time and time again over the course of 10 plus years. Always that one or two team leads or managers who will relentlessly badger the same associates over and over again.

The problem is the targeted associate takes it !!!!

To the “former team lead”. Believe it or not there are team leads as well as managers in every club that are so OFF they will target an associate they just don’t like for just about any reason. More often then not it is about race as well as they may just have a swelled head thinking they can do, say or behave in any manner they wish. They actually looks for associates whom they can prey on. It’s an ego thing.

Do Not ever tolerate being harassed!!! Stand up for yourself and let him/her know that you will NOT tolerate anyone messing with your livelihood!!! Then contact a lawyer. That’s what I did and things got better immediately. Don’t back down. If you truly are doing your job and not a “problem associate” then you have nothing to worry about. Document everything. Have witnesses whenever possible. Good luck to you. Been there.

Did you not read hes an absolute machine. First as a former teamlead if i had a absolute machine as you call yourself the last thing i woukd want to do is make things difficult for that person because this day and time to get someone good is not so easy. When someone thinks that highly of themselves ive usually found it to be the opposite. Ive never seen a kick a-- worker have thereteamleader breathing down there neck. Want to see what they think of your workhabits go tell them you are putting in for a position thats coming up,in a req and if he dont try to see why and ask is there anything he can do to help you want to remain in the meat dept then he wants you out of his dept and he dont quiet think you are quiet a machine.

I would call ethics and see what your options are. Don't put up with it. It took me a while to call ethics, and when I did.... Heads rolled!
