this is like watching a comedy tv series. snarky remarks back and forth. one thing I get a kick out of are those associates who either have " believed" in the club and those who still do. They give their all. Keep quiet when necessary, snitch on the right people, praise the right people and relish the abuse of management as if it were truly love. They accuse anyone who tells the truth about the club of having a bad attitude and being trouble makers. But. When it is their turn to be put outside with the rest they get hysterical and start saying things like " this place is going downhill or this place is going to fold or this place bla bla bla ". I agree that recently HO has made some decisions that likely will be disastrous but this company has NEVER EVER been about you the individual. I have been here many years and from day one I could see the lies they told folks to get them to pour the hearts into the place. That was / is what the cheer is all about. Making you believe you were part of something wonderful so you would accept being abused , lied to , and cheated. Every layer of management does it to the one below. Starting with Doug and coming on down to us the lowly field hourlies. That is the true Walmart culture. Just watch and listen. Your immediate managers will cry about home office while treating you like they claim HO is treating them. Working here is not a disgrace. It is a job. Having and keeping a job is honorable. What is disgraceful is how people are being abused and how the abused excuse the abuse. Keep your head high. Remember you are working for YOU and your family. Be honorable in you job but not because of mama walmart but because of self respect and care for your loved ones. You can do good honest hard work , meeting and exceeding company standards each day without believing the lies and accepting abuse as good.

I meet and or exceed company standards every day for two reasons that seem pretty equal to me, One is for personal integrity which includes honoring God , and two is to keep the green backs flowing. No other reasons.

lpn- No I just know what it's like to work my a-- off daily, and still be asked why I didn't do more. When they know you do your job and you're there for the company needs, they will drain you out of everything you have. Trying to leave when I'm supposed to, and always asked to stay and help with something else. Thinking I can cut time later because we can't get OT, only to be told they will approve my OT. Getting the extra money is good, but sometimes I just want to come home and make dinner for my kids, do laundry, watch some TV, have a damn life. So, I don't see them having a pity party. I see them tired of the BS. And don't day just quit then. People can just quit if they're living with their parents still. But me? I just gave my 2 weeks yesterday. It took a while to find the time and the right job. Now I'm onto better things. Not retail. But you lpn, you can continue to complain about all the others who don't s--- the a-- off management. You're no better then the others who are sick of being treated they way they are.

Let something happen and see how fast your CM gets his arse in serious trouble and may even get terminated. Just because some do it don't mean its ok. Who in the world would want to be in charge and not be getting paid to do it.

That's wrong. I've worked in multiple clubs and multiple markets all overnight. You are able to have a back up key holder. If a teamlead isnt available to fill in. Not everything is an ethics issue. Also, I'm sure who the back up key holder is has phone numbers for managers if need be.

I've never heard of that. If no manager or TL then we got a TL or manager from during the day work with us. Don't listen to the a-- wipes comments below. It has nothing to do with someone who can handle things. It's about having a person there to make decisions if something were to happen. Anyone who works overnights knows that people show up unannounced for different reasons. There has been some weird stuff happen at our club here and there. A person in charge can call the shots on how to handle things. I guarantee that if something were to go wrong while this regular associate is in charge, your CM would get in a ton of trouble. Call ethics and see what they say. I'd be surprised if it is allowed. We don't play that round these parts lol

I agree with ycd. Maybe if you worked harder you would've gotten the keys.

Ask yourself why they did not give you keys, could be they didn’t think you could handle it. Stop your pity party and get back to work.

A back up key holder is. I'm sure they arent in charge. Being that you are all adults. You shouldn't need supervision. What market is this in?
