I thought this deserved to be on top so people would hopefully finally understand this:
A person I've worked with for years was let go two weeks ago. She kept telling to stop being so paranoid when I would tell her to come up with a plan just in case. She was with Xerox for 31 years. This is the only job she's had since college. She was in complete shock. Her job was essential to the group she worked for but that didn't count. NO ONE is safe.

If you are not bright enough to know that they can and will let ANYONE go then you have your head in the sand. You are just a number on a spreadsheet. Doesn't matter what you do, what system you support etc. Job responsibilities aren't taken into account in workforce planning. Be a realist, get prepared, have your resume up to date. The day may never come, but mentally you will be in a much better place if you are prepared for it.
I just wish they would straight with us and tells us . Guess what we are all adults . Let us no what's up with layoffs and the company .lame a-- c.e.o / iccan
I heard this as well. Weekly execution
There is no plan to the cuts - it is now a weekly event and so many good and talented people are being let go. This is not going to end anytime soon. Sadly, Xerox has so much to offer to our customers.
All this to the detriment of morale and business, no sense to it at all!
the same thing has happened to a lot of people. some hubris, but mostly chaos at Xerox. they are going after biggest salaries and tenure. they don't seem to care.
