Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Why are the Clubs having such Rough Visits??

Before anyone on here bashes me, calls me names or accuses me of being a HO Troll, let me be clear. I am an Ex Associate and Manager. I do read these posts of late , and I do not communicate with former colleagues. I have a request and it is just that.. just a request. I mean no disrespect to either the Company or any individual or group of individuals. I would simply like to for those willing to share, what is going on, why are the Clubs having such a rough time?

Please be honest and factual, I have invested years with the Company and have interest in the health of the Sam’s Club Team. What is really going on with the Company and is it as chaotic as people are suggesting on the site. Again , I am just trying to understand current climate/ Challenges.

Thank You All

God Bless!

A men to not caring about my job because the company doesn't care about me. Just hoping for severance pay and fast!

We haven't had bad visits, they have gone well with some notes for improvement. But it's the frequency of the visits that is concerning. Visits used to be a really big deal because they were rare. Now we get visits all the time, every couple of weeks. We are a high volume club so I believe we're fine but something is going on with this company. I just think that it's going to be a rough January.

Feels like Walmart wants to speed up brick and mortars death by giving a poor customer experience.

But brick and mortar is dead. How is it possible that lines are long when everyone shops on Amazon now?

This is so our Club as well. People standing in long lines with only a couple cashiers scheduled. No one on the floor. Cutting hours to make payroll look good. When HO comes in they get moving to make things look like they are running smooth. Even use TL on the registers so it looks like more cashiers. Bahahahaha HO doesnt know the difference

Truth is, visits don't matter....we know they're coming, we over staff, we straight'n up, we do it the way they want, and then they leave....we go back to 2 registers open on a Friday, mile long lines at cafe, fresh areas go back to being under staffed.... and floor associates come in a 4pm leaving the floors bare...and we all laugh at corporate when we get the email about being "uncomfortably full" and being stocked "open to close"....

One of the main reasons these clubs are struggling is lack of experience and pride . The core people who held these clubs together and the most knowlegeable people who cared about this company are either gone or no longer care. When the company started showing us that we no longer matter and there is no security in our job, we stopped caring. Hence the chaos .

People running Sams came from the WalMart side and are doing there best to try and turn Sams into Walmart. Back in the day you could go into any WalMart and see the faces of the employees and see how they hated there jobs. That same hate look is on Sams employees faces now. Leaders no longer want input from the associates and you have a whole lot of people not on the same page. Shrink company wide is out of control and they want to blame everything but whats actually causing a majority of it becsuse when they finally admit it they will be admitting they were wrong. They have let the associates that actually cared about the company go and killed there positions. Alot of egos running Sams and they lead by intimidation.

Without calling anyone out to embarrass them have there been recent visits that have been very bad by executives, if so general area state is fine no club specify please ? Just trying to see what is being identified by Leadership and what Club response might be. Just asking respectfully because I really want to know the facts on the ground as opposed to rumors or gossip.

Company greed, more concern with the bottom line then about sales and service and taking care of the associates, members and buildings. The more the company grips the more it slips through their fingers. Lost site on doing what's right, instead of following direction from multiple leaders that don't know what they are doing. Company gets the same stuff year after year after year. Members want brand name items at lowest possible price instead of everything being members mart. Cheep and cheesy remodels that are trying to follow Costco operation. Won't allow associates to have the tools, equipment, and fixtures to compete with the retail world. Lost sight of sales cure all, are to worried how they are going to pay our H.O. leaders stupid amounts of money to ride around in a jet taking selfies at clubs. Ride members for plus and credit until they just get fed up and stop shopping. Then when they do pay a membership, we basically have poor service, including answering the phones, finding help on the floor, and then suggest they check out themselves when they are done shopping.

Because many of these clubs are not in good condition, despite what a lot of these associates on here think.

Crooked pallets, unsafe steel, missing signs, low stock levels, hot items not out, resets not completed, dirty club, out of dates in fresh areas, rotten produce, water and paper not replenished, rotisserie chickens not replenished, back room a mess, etc etc

Is the Company doing this ? Purging or shedding Jobs experience. The closures hurt the Company in the area of talent. Has not seemed to hurt financial performance. Just asking?

Cause chaos, make people want to quit, cause infighting: perfect recipe to decrease payroll as “The Purge” readies for online competitor Amazon.

Not rocket science......brick and mortar business model can not compete following. Only room for one Costco.
