Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Respect for the individual? Ha!!!!

I cringe anytime I hear, “respect for the individual.” There is no respect shown from market manager on up to the upper ranks. Not a visit goes by, without a threat of PTMT, coaching or termination. The level of negativity that permeates this company is obsene, nothing is ever good enough. Years ago, there was an environment of respect, development and growth; however, now it’s an environment of bullying, humiliation and personal attacks. The often used excuse of “retail has changed and we have to change with it” is true; however, the company has changed for the worst and as optimistic as I would like to be; I’m afraid the worst is yet to come. There is little to no future with Sam’s. Simply look at your member demographic on a local basis and add 5, 10, 20 years to the ages of the members you see and it’s quite obvious where we’ll be in the next decade. Less members, less sales, less profits and less associates/managers. It’s worth noting the salaries of the executives and weigh that on the corporate profit releases over the past year. Pretty easy to see where the payroll is being wasted.

Handwriting is on the wall. Sam's is headed down the same path as Border's, Toys R Us, Sears, Carstons. Just a matter of time before they are out of business and don't kid yourself, it happens to Giants all the time. Get out while you can, while you still may have a shref of self respect. There are better things out there

nope , don't know all the laws but I do know from many years with walmart that they rarely are breaking laws when they treat us like crap ..very little ever come from law suits or complaints to labor boards and the reason why is that it is not against the law for them to treat us like p--p...

Lmao! You must be from H/O or in management OR clueless. WRONG! There are many things that aren't legal. For one, they can't just take you from part time to full time. Since you don't work for the National Labor Board, how do you know all the laws? Are you an attorney? I'm saying people should start flooding them

With phone calls. It certainly doesn't hurt. Better than sitting and taking it and listening to clueless people on here. It certainly won't hurt.

National Labor Board is going to do nothing unless you are being held against your will like a slave or if they are beating you with sticks or are making you work neck deep in feces etc.....As bad as things are getting they are not breaking laws as far as I can tell. .certainly they are not in any way being respectful of individuals...but that is not breaking a law.........

Well, we may not have a union but we do have the National Labor Board. I'm pretty sure if everyone would start writing/calling them, it wouldn't go unnoticed.

Your absolutely correct the company could give a darn about any of us. I’ve seen over the last 2 years where they intimidate coach and yell at the hourlys, nothing is ever good enough for this company. Market manager comes in and rips the CM every time he comes in. Our club manager is a 24/7 manager and still not good enough. We’ve lost some good managers due to the high demand of this corporate bs. We can’t keep cashiers on the front end due to high pressures of the metrics with plus and credit. Not sure why we can’t take care of members and stop trying to be a telemarketer at the registers. I’m like everyone else though maybe 5 years before they shut the doors to all Sams clubs.

Totally agree with everything said. I have watched it change for the worst for many years now. Just very sad!
