Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Amazon buying sears

Installer just told me that one of the higher ups in the delivery/instalation management had a meeting with all the guys. Talked about the new procedures being put in place since amazon was going to be aquireing sears. Stores going bye bye, just a name on the internet. Mabel he's full of xxxx, but seemed to know what he was talking about.

Aren't there rumors about Amazon interested in Target? If they want to get their feet wet in brick and mortar, why not buy Sears on the cheap with fewer stores and revamp the brand? If you want to keep the Sears name alive however, Amazon needs to be alongside , I.e., The AmazonSears Store, Sears by Amazon etc

Sure, seems about right. The number one retailer in the world would buy an in debt, has been, bad reputation retailer. How much sense does that make. Even if Amazon could get Sears/kmart and all the other divisions with it, it would come with over 5 billion in debt. So I guess Amazon could make a deal to have SHC pay them 4 billion and give them the rest of the company. Now that might be an equal exvhange

Yes, an officer of the company is going to share legally binding acquisition information with an installer, yes, that makes sense. Amazon has billions at its disposal it doesn’t have to entertain acquiring run down stores (remember Eddie stole all the good stores a couple of years ago so why bother with the left over junk?)

Why would Amazon want dilapidated real estate that's typically in the has-been part of town?

There have been talks about Amazon buying the property so they can have brick and morter stores but not buying sears and keeping it alive

The only thing of worth is The Blue Crew, and Innovel Solutions. It was rumored that they were going to buy Home Services.

Fake.

Not a chance this will happen for many reasons : Lampert will never sell it's company at disressed price while a deal is currently in place with ESL.

Worn out POS auto centers in the bad part of town with a reputation of being low end. Or new builds in the part of town where the core Amazon customer lives. Yeah that’s a tough choice.

What would the point be? What would they be gaining? No goodwill. A dying customer base. Stop with the wishful thinking.

Aint gona happen Amazon isnt going to buy Sears its not worth it at all. If Amazon buys Sears they buy the debt which makes no sense debt is pretty high. I once thought Amazon was going to buy Sears, but not anymore if anything were to happen they would probably buy a division (maybe auto center, Kenmore, Diehard), but other than that Sears has no value left.
