Forced to go to overnights was not asked

I was pulled in the office and was told I would be going to overnights... like I don’t have other plans scheduled or things to do with my wife.... I was not asked and that especially pisses me off...

Can they do that....

Of course they can. You're option is to quit or take the position they're offering you. Company and business needs is all they have to claim. Been there

To the one stating Fake News you sure do have a lot to comment on every topic. Stating fake news.

Try saying something positive or factual instead of telling everyone all topics are fake news.

So legal short answer is my really. One can claim open availability but their is a difference between open day positions and open night positions.

First off they can not just move to a coded night position without you accepting a job offer for that position. So sounds like this is temporary.

Second, technically it can be argued they can’t just force you without your consent. People have family, lives and sometimes other jobs.

So the short answer in general is not really but You’d have to stand up and call ethics otherwise they will do whatever they want whether it’s right or wrong.

lol...of course they can..they can make you do anything you are not willing to defend yourself from...you might be able to refuse but mark my words ..if you refuse they will retaliate..they might not tell you they are getting even but they will..your work load will increase greatly and suddenly or you will be moved from here to there often or your schedule will become very unstable changing from the posted schedule on a more often basis..they will harass you.....some manager or s--- up will respond by saying the can not retaliate , it is against company policy you know....hahahaha....of course they will retaliate !!!...just in ways that are legal and unprovable ...so feel free to refuse night shift but brace yourself for the storm..............

Um, not fake news because they've done it at our club a lot of times. Temporary basis only. And the people that should stay off this site are the ones with their negative comments that offer nothing. Go to Facebook and troll a$$h***.

Fake news. No one can make you go over nights. Only shift they cant make work. Even if you have open availability. I call b---s--- on this post. In 18yrs never seen or heard of someone being made to go overnights. It's not something we can do. Stop trying to start problems. Maybe reach out to your MM instead of a website.
