Losing Apple was in the news from years.. Nothing so far though. But the silence on 10nm is not something to expect from Intel which was always hyping about manufacturing lead.

I recently saw a posting from the intel alumni group saying there are only 39 remaining employees worldwide at Intel who have been there 40 years or more. Many checked out rich, but in 100000 it's hard to believe there aren't more pitiful souls who don't have a life outside of Intel. This just tells me they were all pushed out by bk's purges over the past few years.

For the most part Engineers and Scientists are smart, practice minded, people. Basically for the last 5 years many have been concerned, but at the same time fearful of raising issues about the health of Intel. Raising issues can at the worst get you fired for performance or at the best told to get back in your cubicle. So only fake engineers are qualified to think outside the box to make important decisions.

McAfee should not be on the list. Yes it was Renee, but it was also during PSO's reign. And not to mention, they were pulling in $2.1B/yr revenue. Financially, it ended up being a decent cash cow - just never an integrated asset. BS got rid of it but maintained 49% control, which means just more cash for Intel. Run the numbers, see for yourself.

@ltj - Yeah. Hiring, firing, promotions and bonuses based on your age, gender, race and whether you are part of a political mafia or not. Merit don't have anything to do with it.
