How non performing managers abusing Dell .....

Many non-performing managers/directors abusing the system at Dell or Dell-EMC. Nobody is taking notice of this wrongdoing. There are managers who do not know 1GB equal to how many MB and yet manager at Dell-EMC - that's a shame. People with close ties to director, manager taken layoff benefits and severance package and came back again through the back door to work in another team! Before going layoff, did not do anything for 6 months. Senior manager and group manager purposefully recruited lame managers as manager-2 so that he can control the dynasty. These are rampant on especially in QE organization. I guess in development organization any loose ends would cause major product failure and cost dell marker share. I wish someone from top leadership notice this

Not that "YouTube" watching director is waiting for retirement. He knows, that it is the end of his career! No one will hire them to even to mop floors let alone engineering role. I believe many of these folks are at the fag end of their career. One day pack-up will sure happen and it will happen soon.

This thread has over 2000 views and over 25 replies - highest for any recent thread posted in this forum. Read for yourself what people are saying! You know what - wise people say never to buy cheap goods - they won't last long! So if Dell got someone for cheap Dell too will pay at the end.

Look at how much of fun NDC is having, after May layoffs everyone got comfortable. Look at that QA guy who moved to cyclone and protected his job and no contribution as always for years. Politics and friendship with upper management always pays off,

Watch out if you work in cyclone qa, he will take credit for all the hard work of the team and he will back stab team members using his connections with dumb upper management and he will get silver award.

I can empathize. My manager has no technical background, yet has someone positioned himself to 'lead' a team of engineers. He obviously lied his way into this role. Everytime I hear this man talk, it's like listening to a used car salesman. This guy is lazy, pompous, and borderline psychopathic. How someone like this has survived for so long in this organization is demoralizing. To make matters worse, he's a creep with ulterior motives, thus hires women over men. Tits and a-- come before talent and experience. Those who give in to his games get preferential treatment.

That’s true. Same here as no one will leave NDC with out layoffs. We have one guy who got promoted to principal QA who doesn’t even know basic storage.

Worst part is he got the best out of his manager and back stabbed her. He is the real culprit who made fun of this organization.

9 years of free paycheck , friendship with upper management and a real snake.

None will leave BDC as it is all pay without work. I know many programmers who are good and asked them if they are interested in new challenging openings in companies like Qualcomm, Nutanix and google but these folks are afraid that they have to work and perform. One lady programmer who is good tells me this place gives work life balance as there is no work in BDC. She can spend quality time with her kid. Now these folks are so used to this culture they have lost all drive and motivation. My advice is please don’t follow YouTube director who has perfected the art of doing nothing . He is in retirement mode and all he wants is kill time here for another 3 years. You youngsters should look ahead. Even your managers nee senior managers are here to only kill time as no one will employ them .

Dell EMC is fun place if you work in BDC storage. Our director watches YouTube from morning till evening. Has no work no motivation to get work for our team also. We have no work for last two years. He is waiting for retirement and has fun in office if he is not out on long holidays. I want to quit as I am getting rusted.

All NDC messages got deleted so I wish one day he get to his senses that he is looting money from Dell for 9 years and he will quit. But he says sorry I will continue to steal free paychecks from NDC qa and he is promoted from qa II to principle and 6 silver awards with no skill or contribution.

If you want to fight, you can always rate strongly disagree in Tell Dell.. wait for it... Next Year! The survey is rigged, before you start whinning about middle managers it has always been in the upper managements' best interest to screw you and hire their friends and families. They are not innocent children, nobody needs to lie, they are happy with kid level powerpoint and numbers from unverified sources for good reasons. So hold your horses, gallop elsewhere! Now please, share layoff news. Move on!

I too heard some engineers given gold awards and promotion then immediately in the next quarter placed them in PIP. In the next 6 months, they were let go. Reason being these good engineers questioned un-ethical practices. It is such a strong lobby among non-performing managers that they purposefully pick loyal followers for promotion/rewards so that they can survive. What I see is a big network of these people spreading throughout Bangalore. They try to keep a grip on the org they work by hiring within the network. I don't think MD or top tier 2 leadership know about this. Top management never look at leaf level employee and these entry-level and mid-level managers make upper echelon believe all is well!

Nothing will change. Dell is a house of cards the lastest going public scam is to push the huge debt Dell has onto the stock holders while MD and his cronies at Silverlake continue to rape the company. Its a mediocre sales force built around laptop sellers who get paid on everything but most couldn't tell you the difference between a server and a storage device, switch or router.. they just let the specialist and SC's do all the heavy lifting then sit back and worry that someone might actually call on their accounts and find out they don't really have any strong relationships. Management is a good old boy bunch with only skill needed being to kiss the a-- of those above you and hopefully fill a square for HR in terms of diversity.

You are one hundred percemnt correct. Bangalore Development Center aka BDC is the best example of such unethical activities. BDC (before merger) was formed by all the laid off non performer from NetApp and EMC.

They form a gang and started monopoly in all the areas from recruitment, tell-dell and what not. They started recruiting only their friends and relative. They forced all good engineer to leave so that no one can expose them. I am one of the victim who was forced to leave the company. Though I am happy that it happened to me. I am in better position now.

They only play politics through out the day and bully good engineers.

There is a director, who always plays video games in serious meetings, not sure if he is changed now.

Another director job is to only watch YouTube.

There are bogus managers who can't even sum up the bill amount what they eaten in a restaurant and they decide future of engineers. So sick .

Top management, Please identify and punish such people.
