I’m curious why you are so oblivious to the fact that your coworkers are posting on this site and not “elves”. Do you really believe that people fired a a year ago actually care whether or not if we are in DSD or not. From most Keebler reps that I spoke with before they were fired, was that they hoped we stayed in DSD as long as possible just to stick right back at his previous employer. Make them realize leaving DSD was a mistake. Plus even if we were exiting DSD do you really think your dm would leak it to you and possibly lose his bonus?

Nabisco may not want to leave DSD but Kroger,Walmart and other chains aren't renewing their contracts. Nabisco is being forced into warehouse. It's been in the works since 2013 when we closed branches and warehouses. 2020 is when the contracts run out in the big chain store's. We may go before 2020. Whenever the big chain's are ready is when we're done. I'm thinking it won't be much longer. Walmart already CAO. Publix CAO and Kroger CAO in big markets. Nabisco upper management will say that we're committed to DSD but the stores weren't.
Number are growing, we are making money not losing. Keebler stock was at 86 when they announce, its at 72 now. Why would we leave? Be stupid to do so.
Always good to be hopeful, but may want a backup plan!! Dsd is ending, Kroger needs to cut costs and now with WM slashing prices they really need to get more aggressive. They are just working out the bugs, our systems now linked so the CAO test stores are handled just like WM, all CAO orders are seen in our IPads. Won’t be much longer!!

I have to tell you getting laid off from Keebler has been the best thing to happen to me. Yes unemployment s---s if you do not have a spouses income. However the state filed for Trade Act on behalf of employees losing their jobs. I am disappointed more of the laid off workers are not taking advantage of this opportunity. Trade Act was certified in February and they will pay for me to return to school and pay my weekly unemployment up to 4 years. I am half way through my BA and finally get to have a career. So many people are not taking this opportunity it's a bit sad. Never in our lives will we have an chance to have schooling paid for and have the job we have always wanted. So even if your jobs go away due to how Keebler closed the DSD and we now have more products imported than exported Kellogg's has to pay for those of us who choose to get education and a new career ahead. This process to be certified was dec-feb ( I received funding weekly before from unemployment). I hope you all get to keep your jobs but if not it's a fantastic opportunity to not pass up.
I'm a cheerleader, but at the same time at any job you should always have an exit plan or backup. This is not your grandfather's world almost no non government job will guarantee you 30 years and a retirement option.
The unhealthy snacking catagory has been in decline for years in N.A. Not sure being slightly up from a long, steady decline is going to change our game plan that has been in the works for some time now. Numbers are always artificialy inflated at end of quarter. Change our structure a bit? You mean a mix of dsd and warehouse? I can see a gradual exit with 3rd party outsourced delivery.

We will not leaving dsd for a long time. We are up this entire year so far and doing well. They may change our structure a bit but we will be in DSD for a long time to come.

We’re not to big, quit trying to convince yourself of that! Even for the largest accounts, divide their deliveries by 7, since they get 7 trucks a week. Nothing they cannot handle, and the financial rewards would be well worth it!

Yes, Andrew. Well, of course, the best measure for us is our share performance. That is what will give us the clearest measure. We also, of course, look at our customer service and things like out of stocks and so on. And that is clearly improving for us. And I think also the fact that we are much more clear on our communication about the fact that we do believe in DSD and we think it can be a differentiator for us. That has caused us to get more confident in our [themes]. If we go a little bit deeper, the things we typically look at is the number of displays that we have, what's going on with our share of shelf. And there, we see clear improvement and clear increases. So those are the different factors that we look at to be able to understand how DSD is doing for us.
Dsd is ending! Our two largest US retailers want to move away from dsd into a warehouse model, like the other 95% of their store. Won’t be difficult for them, no we are not to large!

These threads are so funny. We are not exiting DSD any time soon. Maybe 5 years out or more. Most companies are CAO at Walmart and is not effecting any ones Jobs. We are not CAO at any other store in our region or have not heard any talks of Kroger/Meijer going in that direction. Keep on guessing dates and being wrong for a long time to come.

I actually am a former elf. Lol. Merchandiser who was fired last year. I was a regular on our page last year and check up on your page once every month or so just to see any updates on your company since I was good friends with the nabisco reps in my territory. I moved after the transition so I haven’t been in contact with them. Personally I hope you guys do stay DSD because I don’t want anybody losing their jobs. It s---ed and I don’t want anybody to have to go through that. Good luck everybody.
