Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Thank you......

They actually did me a favor this morning.....yes, my APM position was eliminated, one day after a 1.41% Shrink inventory count just yesterday. I had just started thinking about leaving so now they will pay me for 4 weeks severance plus unemployment while I transition elsewhere! I’ve only been with Kmart for just under 2 years and cut the shrink from 2.5% to 1.8% and 1.4% this year. These results more than paid for my salary but the wizards at corporate are just too stupid to realize this....no wonder the company is in the condition it’s in....

Good luck and best wishes for those that remain!

Haha, someone posted about the formwe apm at Oxon. That man left them high and dry. Took his vacation and sent a email that Friday saying see ya. That store will never have a apm again. The one before him, was lazy as sh-- and then was promoted to a area manager Haha. Only caught 50 externals, and was to damn close to the employees allowing the receving guy to steal left and right.

If anything it was some dumb cashier who was too stupid. How you let one person who worked in the cash office literally walk out the door with 2K on their last day ? Another person that worked in the cash office walked away with 30k and you never seem to bring that up. Let's see customers got away with stuff that still had spider wrap on it. Customers walk in with shopping carts steal what they can. You keep talking like you going see me stop faking over the internet. You mad Kmart got hit up on your watch ? Hahaha

To the guy talking about Oxon Hill, I just saw their stats on health monitor. 8 internals which is top 30 out of 250 stores. . Haha you’re an id--t. Probably an former employee at that store who either got fired or left because he was about to get fired for theft. Why won’t you post your real name big man. I’m Chris apm in that district you fool.

I hope they got rid of M@++ from Oxon Hill. You talking about useless and a waste of payroll. He wouldn't never stop a grown man only women and children. Couldn't stop internal thefts to save his life

Good job with shrink. I'm sure you'll be fine anywhere else you go. Grass is always greener on the outside of Sears Holdings I've heard.

For me, I'll stick it out until my day comes...

@1kwb "Sir, I'm gonna need you to come with me to the loss prevention office. Meanwhile, I could sign you up for a Sears card and you can get three years of worry free protection on that drill you slipped under your jacket for only $15!"

After the initial shock or grief, you will feel tremendous relief. Please make sure to file and sign your severance agreement to a "T" and file for unemployment immediately. If you got outplacement with Right Management, PLEASE make sure you enlist and avail yourself of their program.

There are better days ahead. You will feel SO much better when you work for a company with integrity that values their people. This is a beginning, and not an ending. GOOD LUCK!

Sounds like you brought the shrink down and instead of recognizing you for you and your team's efforts, they showed you the door. Sad.

Other retailers would have kept you on and maybe even would have gone as far as giving you a promotion or a bonus.

I wonder if some spreadsheet jockey in the company will finally come to the realization that it doesn't pay to cut store AP positions? Ever since we lost ours our shrink has increased exponentially, with the thieves becoming even more brazen and emboldened as time goes on. Now they will walk past you with FULL carts (or purses, or backpacks) of unpaid merchandise out the door without a care in the world. I'm sure that we've had a few dishonest associates slip through the cracks too. A certain cashier in our store is always a few dollars short when she closes a register, and she's bern here for almost a year. She's probably skimmed hundreds by now but either the managers are really dumb or they just don't give a damn.

I was an AMP also let go today and interestingly enough was told that the only thing that saved my position last year was the terrible shrink!

Seems if you actually stop a profit drain they don't need you anymore!
