I have no problem with those of you (the majority it seems) who hang out here being spectators and not employees. But please stop spreading the rumors and things that just aren’t even remotely true.
If u could also identify yourself as an outsider it would help. If u want inside info we will share it but stop speculating, it’s just worrying my coworkers.
Sadly many people are interested in what happens during a car accident, major hurricane, or train-wreck. Kmart was once the top discount retailer in the US and perhaps the world. SEARS was once by far the largest retailer of any sort in the world. The fact that in about 30 years time both companies have basically collapsed into nothingness even after they were combined together is of great interest to a lot of people. This level of collapse is unprecedented in history and has the attention of employees, financial folks, and the public at large. This page is the only place that all the interested parties can come to for real information on an anonymous level. Yes the page was originally designed for those who would be directly "touched" by layoffs and so forth, but it has become a window for anyone who wants to know more about the situation.
Ok I just looked at the rates compared them to a loyalty program and a AAA discount and Priceline. Same rated or less plus you get sywr’s so This is a win for Sears/syw.

You need to compare those rates against other rates and in-house loyalty programs. The SYW points are trash and not worth checking in for Marriott and Hilton.
I said that most SYW members are not clients of those businesses when referring to the Omni, 4Seasons, and Sofitel. Including myself. The rates are not that great and the points are not worth the effort. Shill? no way lol. Doubletree, Millennium-Copthorne, Hotel Indigo, Club Quarters and Hilton flagship for me. I wouldn't short Sears lol, even shorting is a money-losing proposition at this point. I was just stating the obvious when looking at what's available and the rewards you get for staying.

As for the person saying the only hotel worth booking is the 4seasons ? Seriously??? Obviously you don’t work At a Sears as I don’t think any of us could afford the 4Seasons.

It's not completely ridiculous, he did keep the company afloat for 8 years after it stopped turning a profit. However, Shop Your Way hotels is garbage, the only hotels that are worth booking through that are Sofitel, Omni, and the 4Seasons. Most people that are members of SYW are not clients of these businesses. There are also better ways to get better deals on those hotel brands. The points deals with Hotel Indigo and Club Quarters are not much more than a laugh. Saying this is a good idea is utterly insane unless it's executed in a manner that would actually give the customer some value.
