New round of layoff getting planned

Hearing lot of rumors about a new round of layoff. Is it true? Why again when we had a massive layoff last year??

That so neat that a bunch of anonymous people want to speculate on a bunch of BS. Why not focus on working and then just take life as it comes? Focus on a negative and guess what - the negative will happen to you. Any rumors about offices shutting down are bogus....

There is no value of talent in Cisco anymore. These rumours of layoffs are reality now. Better work in other companies or even startups instead of mentally torturing and blaming yourself. Many of the colleagues are having mental breakdown in Cisco.

They may not do PR's any longer, but they do Talent Reviews and that's as bad if not worse.

Quarter is over. Numbers are in. But the budget for FY19 is already locked in for most BU’s for example, SP R&S are working on 7% cut, so expect blood on floor in Sept.

When you least expect it, expect it.

It's just like deer hunting season, thinning the herd.

The venison jerky is a necessary sacrifice to appease the ratings analysts so stock buyback can continue until the next fiscal year LR harvest.

CCBU is downsizing since 2 years ago, not surprising it is getting closed.

What else left in BXB ?

Does anyone know what determines the IPF? Are there performance metrics associated with IPF?

What are the layoffs based on? We don't have performance reviews.

PIPs are based on performance - or lack thereof.

Back in the day when there have been performance reviews, layoffs have never been justified by your manager with lack of performance. Maybe that was the reason, but for whatever legal reason, your manager was not allowed to admit that.

If you want to understand how your manager "rates" you:

  • check your inbox how often he replies to you with "thanks", "great work", etc

  • IPF

  • number of connected recognition awards

etc
