I'm curious but it used to seem very much like a family when I went in there years ago. Did the Trump corporate greed model make it worse like other places?

It's been worse than ever before. My department lost a few more people recently and we couldn't afford to lose anyone because we're all doing the job of 3 people. Extremely understaffed, even on the busiest days. We are doing our best, but it's getting very stressful.

You got that right! Destroyed it’s soul. The last few years have been a whirl wind of expand and throw money away and give tons of free stuff away to guests to keep them happy. That wasn’t on John Mackey that was on the guy that helped oust Mackey and took his top spot. We were giving more stuff away than selling. Can’t stay in business long with that mentality. People quickly learned what to say to get the hand out. Then they got rid of the hard workers and kept what was left. Mackey should be ashamed to have allowed the destroyers of WFM to push him out of his own company.
The stores that I have been in recently are understaffed. There is not time for team members to enjoy all the hippy-dippy happy stuff from years past. It more or less feels like any other retailer now, but 99% of the changes that have happened over the last year were in the works before Amazon. Check back in a month.
Whole Foods has eaten its own over the last 3 years, and destroyed its soul by doing so.
