Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

More layoffs in September?

I've heard from two different sources now that we might see another significant round of layoffs sometime in September.

Anybody here knows more or anything about it?

Guessing Silly Billy rehearsing his “turn chicken $hit into chicken salad” speech this morning. Could spin that into - I clipped the deadweight (except for myself) and sent all those Arkantards back to the chicken coop! Lolz!!

Unless I missed something , not a comment about selling the Fayetteville

I would expect that to be bad for the stock tomorrow

Betting my SWN stock grants that Billy boy says in the upcoming conference call that layoffs in the future may be a possibility and not ruled out.

Layoffs likely won't be necessary, there have been lots of folks leaving on their own since the last round. Overall job market is doing too well to tolerate this level of job insecurity.

The next round is indeed happening. For field offices, it will solely be based on your Tiwi coaching events (btw reviewed and analyzed by Managers who have never driven in the field), and for Corporate office folks, you will be ranked by not only the sheer number, but the quality of your behavior based safety stop observations and critical conversations. For example, if you see a joker backing in his/her vehicle into a front angled parking spot, you should immediately chase this person down and read them the riot act. The more people you scalp, the higher your chances of not being laid off! Any questions!

Yes people! Layoffs are coming soon. FAY sale will be announced and layoffs will follow shortly. No reason to keep all those employees. It's not all bad. Stock price should go up and the ones getting laid off are getting a severance package. I would gladly take it if they offer it to me. How do I get on that list? I survived the big one in 2016 and survived this last one again! What luck!

Hearing from several layers of management that they are being asked to discreetly identify candidates for next round of layoffs. Looks to be by year end so no bonuses need to be paid. When will they get staffing right so NO more layoffs. It is so stressful

You can probably always find people to work ... office is nice , pays good.

May not be the “super star hire” like from BG ! But some adequate folks, if given some training and support with good assets would be fine ...

—- and there , no matter what you do, the assets are dull, maturing and no plan exists to grow

I know a lot of people would be okay with getting let go. It's unfortunate that mgmt won't do voluntary layoffs so the people left would be people who actually want to be here. On the other hand, they might not have enough employees left...

That’s possible or it could be related to a possible sale of Fayetteville. If it’s sold or not, I would see more layoffs coming

Maybe the upper management they promised will be named. And we’ll drop the service company dead weight in Houston.
