@Upg2Kfc-2uoz: Take it from someone who left Oracle voluntarily after 15 years: Get out. You can find another job where you won't be treated like this. I don't even think it's worth waiting for a package.

@Upg2Kfc-2cvd

The problem is that THEY DON'T APPROVE my vacation.

Been requesting them 2 months ago and I have issues having 2-3 days together off.

I have over 150 hours of vacations available, but management don't approve it due to lack of staff and people on shifts... that's the thing.

Sounds like the usual Oracle support model. :)

You can take vacations . They’ll just not have coverage. Sounds to me like they don’t care anyway if there’s enough coverage. Your thinking on this is wayyyyy too accommodating to them. Having too few people to run shift co enrage is not your problem to work around. Did they change the terms of service? Rest assured if they legally don’t have to provide it, they’re going to cut any and all overhead associated with the things they DONT legally HAVE TO DO for clients. See?

Find a new job somewhere where you are valued.

In fact around 10 people out of 35 in my team got laid off yesterday.

It’s a pretty insane cut.

Starting from 2 DBAs on each shift down to 1

2-3 SysAdmin on each shift down to 1-2

And etc...

The issue is also the fact that with that move, we are not able to take any vacations anymore aince we are under staffed.. it’s getting crazy in my team and pretty scary..

Actually that is not what I think he's saying. I think he means that it isn't surprising that Oracle is targeting their older, more expensive employees, not that you DESERVE it. Just that Oracle wants them young dumb and very very cheap. Take it from one grey hair to another.

So you're saying that people with gray hair deserve to get laid off? Really, is that what I'm reading here?? So, I've been with Oracle for almost 19 years and have gray hair so I should be on the chopping block, seriously you f---ing moron. Guessing you're one of the 20 somthings that now live here thinking that your skinny jean man-bun wearing dumb a-- will get anywhere in life. Good luck with that..

I you think a company can't be hiring and laying off at the same time, you don't know much. Seems to be hitting the PaaS org. Not surprisingly, the people I know who were affected all had gray hair.
