While it has been mentioned a couple of times in other posts, it does not appear to have any legs. If this were a real possibility, I would expect there to be significantly more activity/posts about it.

Oh so kind of like the way Verizon sold off ALL its towers and leased them back from American Tower because they are broke and needed cash? Got it...
Wireless is merely an access method. It provides access (low power RF) between the mobile (cell phone) or fixed location device (router backup) to the nearest tower(s). Once at the tower it is placed on traditional landline circuits. If the mobile carrier (i.e. T-Mobile) does not have landline infrastructure of their own, then they lease/wholesale their requirements from other carriers that provide landline services.

It can't be hitting IT again. This last round took out about 40% of most teams. I know almost all teams are running super lean as it is.
How does T Mobile survive without wireline?

There is no wireless without wireline of some sort. It sounds like Hans is going to be undoing a lot of the previous integration efforts starting with the wireless areas. Can't see them spinning back wireless out to a separate company, however the licenses look to still be under cello business partnership so maybe as a wholly owned subsidiary. wonder how long before they hit people working remote because of legacy companies (xo, gte) that still today provide critical support to business functions. hoping for best.
Re-orgs have started this week on the wireless side, groups that were once under wireless have been moved to the wireless side or shut down: DSO/TEI, VCP Edge/Core.

I think Hans is the CEO for all of Verizon, not just wireless.
Unlikely to happen this month. Wouldn't be a good idea to do layoffs the same month wireless gets a new CEO. Most likely will happen before the holidays.
for certain there's a RIF happening on the business transformation side next week. I think the train has slowed a bit some others but they will happen sooner than later.
