Changing career. My 24 years of Oracle DBA not as marketable anymore. Everywhere is going for SQL Server, Azure and good to have Cassandra/MongoDB. Though, SQL Server seems to be a lot easier to grasp. Just the backup recovery itself would not need a knowledge of a book like RMAN and dealing with so many possibilities. SQL Server Clustering much pleasant to deal with than Oracle RAC. Not exactly apple to apple but it serves the use case.

Oracle set itself up for losing dB market share through its predatory, short term focused, contract terms. You reap what you sow, so here it comes. Bye, bye LE, or better yet Sayonara - wasn’t that the name of one of LE’s dingies ?

Isn't a while ago someone said VMware no longer using Oracle for their esx solution too ? Quite a large customer base I think if everyone moving away from Oracle database. And SAP too? Looks like more big corp changing their application databases to something else.

They don’t have the guts to audit Amazon. SZ

Would love for oracle to audit amazon and amazon to sue the heck out of oracle for its abusive practices - would be the law suit for the ages that would finally kill oracle because it would set a precedent for all other clients and obliterate oracle’s abysive practoces once and for all. So in other words, will never happen because even the 3 stooges know better than to walk straight into falling blade of a guillotine.

MH said AI and ML will allow employers to deal with the employee shortage. It will allow computers to replace humans and analyze a lot of TPS reports.

Oracle's AI and ML just picked up that Amazon may be a candidate for churn. Actionable insight.

Amazon will drown Oracle in TPS reports. The people in India won't be able to catch up by 2020.

I hope Oracle audits Amazon to death. Get a billion dollars out of them. Make them buy some Oracle cloud. That will teach them.

So much for LE bragging about how much AMZN was paying ORCL in db licenses.
