I think that we can all agree that AIG is not the company that it used to be and layoffs are imminent. Getting let go is a somewhat sour experience in varying degrees. I have been there. OK let’s change gears.
This is an excellent job market out there and let’s not lose sight of that. There are plenty of jobs and not enough people to fill them. If you were going to be let go, count your blessings that the job market is so good right now.
I had a very niche job at AIG and I was able to find work relatively quickly. If you get Lego, make your new job finding a new job. Hit up all of your contacts. Flip every stone and leave nothing unturned. If you want something bad enough, it happens.
Since 2008 the executive turn styles have been spinning in high-speed as executives go in and out of AIG. Makes no sense at all.
I think it’s too much for even Duperault to turn around. Sad.
