Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Inventory for fresh has been WAY OFF!! I'm talking over 6K!!

The past few months during inventory, our numbers for fresh departments have been ridiculously off. Thousands of dollars off. The market team nor the management seem to care. Which is funny because that's a telltale sign that my club will be closing either in August or January. Can anyone relate to this? There are so many people in that building that wishes it closes due to the poor management. And I mean poor. They blame and accuse the hard workers and let the lazy ones roam free and do as they please. I see it everyday. Also, we've been ordering spareribs and backribs, but they don't see to want to send us any. Who can relate to any of this? Comment below!

There's a post about signs of stores closing not far if you scroll down. DC trucks that start getting cancelled. Your club not being able to participate in certain club promotions that the others do. Trucks that's do come in don't have everything you need on them.

What signs did you see to know if a store was going to close?

Coming from a place that did close. I did not see huge negatives like that during fresh inventory. 16,000 is pretty crazy, but what were the other months? Sometimes they bounce back the next month. There would have to be more signs if a store was to close.

Fresh negative shrink also equals positive shrink for the D.C. 's. They sort us product, over charge clubs, use an average weight formula, get reduced priced produce and charge us the same even though it's damaged and or closed dated. Yes product gets stolen, weight up wrong, trimmed a little too much , rung up wrong, not scanned as a donation or throw properly and etc. . But a lot of the shrink is company caused through our own D.C.'s. Plus even the stuff we lose / donate we get tax breaks, so it's not all doom and gloom with fresh. Also they put supply cost in the inventory tracking to make it worse than it really is.

You must not work in fresh. Because you would know that is a normal number. It's actually a pretty good number. If you're like 10,000 off then I'd be freaking.

$6k is nothing we had $20k imagine that, but oh well what the hell that is nothing compared to the rest of the club. Our managers take back anything that is 10 years old no questions asked, hell I buy all my sh-- from Sam’s once it’s worw out bring it back. Only wish Sam’s sold cars I could get a new every 5 years🤔

Hidden shrink in fresh is not an indicator of a club closure ding dong! That’s not even a huge amount lmao

6k in a fresh inventory is really light. Who is telling you otherwise?

Look for Inventory levels , are you using the IT reports to baseline for Shrink? If you start noticing inventory levels and trucks cancelled you are on the right track...
