Compensation can indeed vary between stores and between ASMs but you stated benefits which is.... false. There are no exceptions to benefits and no written contracts at the ASM level.

@4ebb You are 100% correct. This happens at all companies including Sears and involves compensation and benefits. At a Sears store in our district there was an ASM who had a written contractual agreement that he only worked one weekend a month and that included the holiday season. It is based on such factors as need, experience, specific skills, favoritism, etc. I have seen it at 3 different companies I have worked for.

We can go back & forth forever but there are absolutely differences between the benefits for full timers who are non exempt and salaried employees. Then there are the differences in what each ASM makes in the same store which goes beyond factoring in years of experience, education, etc.

Finally when we had leads their pay was all over the place with the 21 yo lazy incompetent one making the most per hour.

I only know the compensation for one store but I assume every place of business everywhere works like this. People negotiate and people keep secrets.

False. There are no exceptions.

@2pag There are exceptions and if you don't think there are you are sorely mistaken and not fully informed.

False. There is no variation between ASM benefits. It is standardized company wide with no allowed deviation. Only SGMs and higher sign contracts.

@ivnx ASM compensation and benefits are not always standardized within Sears stores. Generally they are but there are exceptions made. ASM compensation and benefits can vary from store to store on an individualized basis. DM's have more control over ASM compensation and benefits than you realize. ASM compensation and benefits can sometimes vary even between ASM's in the same store. Ever heard of individual written contracts between an employer and an employee?

This thread looks like everyone scrambling to get off the Titanic, with the crew looking for dresses to wear so they can jump in a lifeboat first . News flash- there are no more life boats.

False. I've been an FT hourly and I'm currently an ASM. Same benefits. The only change is getting paid on the 1st and 15th, having an upgraded termination matrix, and a higher cap on weeks of severance.

Asm's work? Don't know the meaning. When company comes though they are the ones who are praised on how things look, not the ones who actually bust butt. Sad but they need to go.

Yep. Salaried ASMs do much better benefit wise than hourly employees, even so called full timers. That is the case at most if not all retail stores. I'm surprised that everyone doesn't know that. Not trying to be mean but I'm surprised.

It's quite amusing to watch you all scream, argue, and hurl insults at each other over a company that doesn't give a fig about you. Ed will do whatever is necessary to bring this thing to it's most profitable conclusion - for himself. You will all lose, and he will win. Be his pawns or leave...It really doesn't matter. It will still play out the same way, regardless of trolls, tantrums, and denials.

@1phw Benefits are not all the same for salaried ASM's and full time associates. I should know. I am a salaried ASM. If you can somehow get a hold of a complete copy of the ASM compensation and benefit schedule you will see what I mean.

I heard they were going to try something revolutionary, like asking the people who actually make money to do some goddamn work instead of driving the low-paid associates like slaves and making them do the job of 4 people while the managers sit in their office and mas----ate.

The only ones that didn't receive raises were the ones above $48,000 which was the vast majority of them since Sears compensates their managers well.

Fool. Full time hourly associates and salaried associates get the same benefits. The only change is the # of weeks of severance that you are capped at. The reason Sears ASMs were not converted to hourly is that they were all given raises to raise them above the $48,000 limit for the proposed OT rules.

id--ts. There will be no more salaried ASM's. They will go hourly and get up to 48 hours per week. No more and no less. This has been at Kmart for two years. This is to be able to cut benefits as an hourly employee as opposed to a salaried employee. Get a clue people. SHC is not your friend.

False. Anyone at Sears with the title of ASM is salaried. Only Zone Supervisors are hourly.

@UtSMAnZ-wmp yes the Obama rules were blocked at the last minute but Kmart and sears just kept all ASMs hourly anyway and since there was small number of Asms making over the 48,000 a year they made those asms hourly too.

Most Kmart ASM's have had to clock in for over a year. Now it is Sears turn. Welcome to the real world all you Sears people. What happens, happens at Kmart first and then Sears.

The nonsense posted on here. The drama and lies made up. So sad. If all posters were writers they would make money if their book was published. Maybe not.

What are you talking about this all happened back in 2016 when Obama changed the overtime rules. All salaried managers were taken to a hourly rate and are given 8 hours overtime each week.
