What's the timetable for when Oracle will sell all their technical debt to microfocus? Anyone want to take a stab predicting the time frame?

There might be another bidder in Computer Associates.
As long as the cloud LOBs can't pay the bills, O has to hang onto the legacy stuff
True but at some point O, which wants to appear as innovative especially in the cloud, will need to justify how all the head count are supporting its innovative initiatives. It will need to either:
-
offload the technical debt to someone - i.e. MicroFocus
-
get rid of ALL supporting payroll and just charge the customer for nothing at which point the customers will eventually move on.
-
O continues to dump unwanted assets as Open Source - Java FX anyone?
Any of the above means we are shown the door. Whats the shelf life? Where is the tipping point?
Isn't Oracle a much bigger version of MicroFocus already? Except it doesn't buy obsolete LOBs to milk them to death, it already has a home grown portfolio of those.
