Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Confused

So I work in the meat department and we are being told to not worry about reductions and throws anymore and produce as much as possible even during slow days. The numbers compared to last year are outrageous and it's difficult to wrap my head around. We have worked so hard over the years to keep these numbers low and I'm wondering if any other clubs have been given this directive? Respect for the individual and the opinions of us peons don't seem to matter anymore unfortunately.

The current direction in Fresh goes against 40 yrs of training. I don't get it. I understand pushing sales, and membership, etc., but throwing out food/money willy nilly like this has to have an element for bigger minds. An element I will never get. I trust it's for the greater good, but are we included in that? Will we be part of the greater good?

Uu4... You must be new... Do you really need it spelled out? Just because they're throwing money at it and "fresh is the focus" bs doesn't mean there won't be restructuring. Nobody is ever safe in this company. Not even the precious fresh area.

Your right. The company is gonna restructure fresh departments. Something they are throwing money at. That's right. Probably just get rid of fresh. id--t

Let's cut black belt some slack. It is possible to get the higher pay. Let's say he gets there. We all know what happens. Company restructuring!

Black belt? Hahahahaha!!! You poor soul.... Come on puppy, jump higher and we'll give you a treat! You almost had it that time.... Keep trying.

There is no future with this company. Learn it now or learn it when they cut you a severance. The choice is yours, puppet.

Team

Do not argue amongst yourselves, who can doubt the direction had been given. That said let’s give each other the respect that these people don’t. Sam’s is in a very bad way, no one can deny that fact. It is true for any number of reasons. Depending on who you work for or with everyone’s experience can be different . Read that as better or worse. There is a serious issue w Leadership in this Company from the Top down. There are serious problems in the Company , there is a drain of talented leadership so around here anything is possible. To preserve and protect that which we have, that which we want to protect. There is but one answer : Unionize. Do not bicker among ourselves over people who feel we are all dirt!

To the person that said "fake news". First off nobody is impressed that you are a team lead. That has meant absolutely nothing at Sam's Club for quite a while now. Secondly there are hundreds of clubs, multiple regions, multiple assistant managers and GM's. How can you claim I wasn't told that? I was just asking if anyone else had been given this directive. We have. Good luck with that black belt test, and good luck with the next restructuring pal.

Fake news. No one ever told you that. I'm a meat teamlead. I've never told my cutters that

I work in the meat room too. We just "donated" 10k worth of stuff. They tell us to produce and anything that moves the slightest in the package we are to reduce it. It makes no sense. Maybe they're closing more stores. Who knows.
