Does Southwestern rehire employees who were laid off before?
This does not affect me, but I was curious in general. We've lost some of our best employees in the past several layoffs rounds so I was wondering if they would be taken back if the opportunity presented itself? Even if the pay was lower?
They hired back quite a few from the first layoff back in 2016
SWN, please take me back! I promise to behave a much better old person employee and ignore all them young- uns making fun of old farts like me. I'll even take a 40% pay cut, no health insurance, 1 week vacation, no sick days, no gym access, and no 401k. Basically, almost like a contract employee without the contract employee rate. I just need a job. :(

The older employee was fired because they failed their “stair test”. You must demonstrate your commitment to safety by going up and down all the stairs while maintaining 3 points of contact. This person couldn’t do it in the require 4 minutes.
An older employee was fired yesterday probably so SWN didn’t have to pay her retirement!!! Talk about the right people doing the right things!
Older employees get treated like second class citizens why on earth would any one go back to that!!
Who would be that stupid to go back to SWN, with the burgeoning job market these days! That would be like going back to a 300 lb girlfriend eats Chester’s Fried Chicken for breakfast, lunch and dinner and that treats you like c-ap, just to say she’s with someone smarter than her! Yes, SWN have rehired former laid off employees before. As far as I know, for the same salary or maybe even higher. No one in their right mind would take the same position for lower pay. Screw that!
