No, actually, he pillaged the assets that made the yacht and the house possible. Those assets were built by tens of thousands of hard working people who made it all possible. He EARNED NOTHING.
Other retailers have air conditioned stores. Those same retailers run the heat in the dead of the winter, too, to make sure their customers and employees have a comfortable environment to work or shop in. You won't have to wear a coat and you won't see your breath at those stores.
Employees at these stores get perks like TVs, coffeemakers, microwaves and fridges in their breakrooms, and maybe even stoves and dishwashers to use.
Other stores have well-lit parking lots on the outside and pleasantly lit aisles on the inside.
Ask me how I know, I jumped ship over to Lowe's and I love it over there. I'm earning almost twice as much as I did as a lead at Sears. Can't complain at all.
The CEOs of these other retailers are living just as well as ESL but still manage to care about the companies they run and the people running it. What a concept.
