Willow Plaza is scheduled to close end of this year or Q1 2019. Large groups moving out of Willow this month. Hiring is almost at a standstill in Northbrook. In this very tight job market, Allstate is losing highly skilled labor at a high rate because of Suren's dumb ERS strategy. Tech Projects slowing down and going on hold and ATSV bleeding money. Good luck Northbrook employees - sooner or later you need to abandon the Allstate ship, before they do. Strike the job market while it is hot.

Holdouts may not get buyouts, they will just say move to Irving/Charlotte - your job is there and they hope and pray you don't move.

If you’re job is eliminated or relocated 50+ miles away, you’re eligible for severance.

I just heard that if your job is eliminated, you get severance. If it's just relocating and you don't go, it's a voluntary termination. I sure hope that's wrong. I want severance package.

Severance would be 10 weeks, or 2 1/2 months. It’s ok, but not if you’ve passed up on career opportunities because you wanted to grab the cash. Your peers are going to be out there looking at the same jobs. It all depends on your personal situation, but 10 weeks pay isn’t a life changer.

I have been at Allstate 5 years, have already been told our department will be moving out of Illinois. Should I wait for buyout or get out now? Job market tempting both ways - buyout and find a job gets some extra money, buy waiting may hurt? Nice dilemma to have though.

All the Northbrook based jobs that relocate will be going places greater than 50 miles.

Yes, severance will be offered.

Well if they relocate your job out of state they are going to "buy you out"
